Dear Students,

I am writing this letter to highlight the fast-changing requirements of the job scenario and the need for proper career guidance.

During the last decade, opportunities in sectors like bio-informatics, biotechnology, I.T., entertainment, mass media, etc. have been increasing and accordingly new educational courses are being designed to meet the growing need. To keep pace with the emerging new vocations, it has become necessary to remain informed about new opportunities. I find that students passing out of S.S.C.(Class X) or H.S.C.(Class XII) are often not aware of the variety professional courses available to them. Parents of merit rank holders of the H.S.C. Examination whom I met recently, expressed the same feeling.

I always insist that the Governments efforts should be pro-active to reach the common students explaining them the opportunities available in various professions. Instead of being reactive, a vigorous and pro-active role of the Government is the need of the hour.

Against this background and on my request. Dr. Shrikant Jichkar, who has a wide and broad-based educational background, is reaching out to the students with the intention of outlining the opportunities available in various fields to S.S.C, H.S.C passed candidates. I am sure, you will find this free booklet published by the State Government, informative and useful.
