CENTRAL INDIA RESEARCH FOUNDATION FOR SOCIO-ECONOMIC AND POLITICAL AFFAIRS

The Society was founded in the year 1985 with certain objectives in mind. Accordingly, the Foundation carries out research, study, inventions, discoveries, evaluation, analysis, propagation, enhancement and diffusion of the knowledge of and other developments in pure and applied sciences, arts, languages, medicine, pharmaceutical and drug sciences, technology, engineering and electronics and all and any branch of knowledge And it works for this purpose to establish, provide, maintain and conduct or otherwise subsidise establishments, research laboratories, experimental workshops and institutions for scientific and technical research and undertakes and carries out all kinds and types of scientific and technical research, experiments and tests of all kinds It also promotes studies and research, both scientific and technical, investigations and inventions by providing, subsidising, endowing or assisting laboratories, workshops, libraries, lectures, meetings, seminars, remuneration of scientific or technical personnel, professors, teachers, scholars, students and propagators, and by providing for the award of scholarships, freeships, sponsorships, prizes and grants to students or otherwise and generally to encourage, promote and reward studies, research, investigations, experiments, tests and inventions of all and any kind, and it is further explained that for the purpose of this paragraph the word 'science' shall mean and include humanities, social-sciences, languages, art, culture, ethics and religion.

The objective is also to collect, store, use, analyze, interpret and process data of any and all kinds and act as data processors in order to enhance, develop, modify, search and research, experiment with and experiment by, diffuse, preach, profess, publicise all and any branches and disciplines of knowledge and education and for this purpose to carry on the general vocation of providing comparative information about the characteristics, interests and other attributes of individuals, communities, societies, organization's, states, regions, countries, or other social, economic or political units and of any articles or commodities, or economic, social or political trends or persons whatsoever and further to design, invent, prepare, own, make, make use of, lease, loan, licence, buy, sell or otherwise acquire or dispose of, deal in and deal with all and any types of computers, data processing machines, electronic equipments, electronic gadgets, types, cards, memory equipments, or any other equipments and materials of every kind and description useful in connection with the foregoing object and further to allow, permit, request, licence, engage or otherwise authorise others to engage in the foregoing, and to engage in general research and development in areas related to or involving the foregoing object.

Other objectives are:

To carry on studies, research, experimentation, evaluation, invention, diffusion and enhancement of knowledge on the economies of farming, horticulture, floriculture, sericulture, dairy, cultivation of all kinds of food grains, seeds, fruits, products of farming, dairy, horticulture, floriculture, sericulture and Pisci-culture and fishing and trading and dealing with agriculture, and for this purpose to carry on the vocation of agriculture, cultivation .growing, manufacturing, milling, grinding, rolling, processing, cold-storing, canning and preserving and dealing in food grains and other agricultural, dairy, horticulture and poultry products, fruits, vegetables, herbs, medicines, flowers, drinks, fluids, gas and fresh preservable products; and further to achieve the purpose to buy, sell, import, export and generally deal either on cash, deferred payment, installments or hire purchase basis, licence or lease, in land, plant and machinery, implements, accessories, tools, materials, substances, goods or things of any description Including tractors, power tillers, sprayers, dusters, mist-blowers and all types of modern agricultural implements, fertilizers', and all types of plant-foods, pesticides, insecticides, fungicides and all types of plant protection chemicals, fishing boats, crafts and trawlers, fishing nets, gadgets, cold storage, deep freeze equipment and all types of equipment required for the forestry, animal husbandry, poultry, farming, pisciculture, sericulture, agricultural equipment for processing and preserving agricultural and forest produce and all other food materials Including materials of animal origin, and to carry on all such allied activities which in the opinion of the Foundation will help the growth and modernisation of agriculture, horticulture, forestry, pisciculture, sericulture, poultry farming and animal husbandry and allied branches.

To diffuse, preach, propagate, enhance, develop, publish, print, communicate or otherwise make known matters of any and every branch of knowledge and education by means of such audio-visual, mechanical, electronic, laser, atomic or other such aids; and for this purpose to produce, buy, import, export, dispose off, or otherwise deal in and deal with, cinematographic films, television films, video films, radios, tape-recorders, cassettes, video-cassettes or a combination or combinations of these; and further to establish, purchase, take on lease or hire or otherwise acquire and maintain, run, dispose off, give on lease or hire, studios, laboratories, cinemas, picture places, halls, theatres, auditoriums etc. for the production, processing and printing of all and any types of films; and to exhibit, distribute, cinematographic films, video films and acquiring or selling rights therein.

To provide medical relief to the public in all the branches of medical sciences by all available means and to carry out medical research by engaging in the research and development of all fields of medical sciences, and in all therapies of medical treatment so as to afford medical relief in a better way and to provide research facilities for carrying on research, basic and applied, in all systems and disciplines of medical and surgical knowledge, keeping in view the socio-medical and socio-economic need of the afflicted community and to encourage and develop biological and pharmacological standardization of indigenous medical plants and further to encourage the discovery of new medical and/or surgical management of diseases and afflictions and to investigate and make known the nature and merits of investigations and findings and research in the said field and to acquire any patent and licences or other protective devices relating to the results of any discovery, investigations, findings or research and to acquire any processes upon such terms as may seem expedient and to improve the same and to undertake the manufacture of any product developed, discovered or improved and/or to give licences for the manufacture of the same to others and either to market the same or to grant licences to others to market the same on such terms as the Foundation may think fit, for the benefit of the community and society; and further to provide, encourage, initiate or promote facilities for the discovery, improvement or development of new methods of diagnosis, understanding and prevention and treatment of diseases, and also further to conduct and to carry on experiments and to provide funds for research works and for scholarships, freeships, stipends, remuneration, aid for travels abroad, and/or other payments or aid to any persons engaged in research work, or work connected with or conducive to research and to encourage and to improve knowledge of the persons who are engaged or likely to be engaged in any medical or related profession so as to make available medical relief to the public at large; and to endow research fellowships or grant financial assistance to persons or institutions engaged in medical, medico-social research; and for this purpose to acquire, establish and maintain, buy, run, sell, develop, one or more hospital/hospitals for the reception and treatment of persons suffering from any and all kinds of illness, or mental defect and for the reception and treatment of persons during convalescence, or of persons requiring medical attention, or rehabilitation, solely for philanthropic purposes and not for the purpose of profit and further to found, establish, run, take-over and/or otherwise conduct research Institutions in all disciplines of medical and surgical knowledge.
To establish in any part of India or elsewhere libraries for lending video-cassettes, audio-cassettes, books, magazines, and other publications and for study of books, magazines, newspapers and other publications in the buildings owned, hired or otherwise acquired for the purpose thereof and to do all such other acts and things which are conducive to the attainment of the aforesaid objects.

To inform the society and community about the events and happenings of the time and or to give studied, analytical or critical views about them and thereby to diffuse and transfer knowledge and information of any and all kinds and for this purpose to carry on printing, publishing and circulating or otherwise dealing in any daily newspaper, evening or afternoon newspaper, weekly, monthly, fortnightly newspaper or newspapers, magazines, periodicals, journals or other publications; and further to start, acquire, print and generally carry on the activities of owners of newspapers and magazines as aforesaid; and to do all other things which are necessary, incidental, ancillary or otherwise conducive to the attainment of the above object.
To subscribe, buy, keep, sell, give on hire, or otherwise deal in and deal with books, magazines, periodicals, journals, pictures, photographs, pamphlets, papers, newspapers and all kinds of readable material; to supply, exhibit, and supply to customers or visitors of the Foundation, to the trustees, promoters, office-bearers, directors, governors or members of the Foundation or of any other person, publisher, writer, editor or dealer; to establish, maintain, run, equip and furnish a reading, reference and or circulating library, wholly and/or partly, for use of the subscribers, customers, visitors, trustees, promoters, office-bearers, directors, governors, members of the Foundation either gratuitously or on such terms and in accordance with such regulations as may be deemed proper; to publish periodicals, books, pamphlets, magazines, journals, papers, research articles, research papers, newspapers or to associate with any other similar Foundation, Association, Trust, Company, Firm, person, Society, authority which deals in and deals with such publications; to purchase and or acquire any copyright, patent, title in books, literary, research or other contributions or pictures, photographs, and such thereof as may be expedient; and to carry out any such activity as is required for the attainment of the above objects.
To establish, promote, run, organize, arrange, sponsor, in the metropolis, capital of the States, Capital of India, big cities and towns, municipalities, cities, towns, villages, localities in India and abroad, in the universities, schools and colleges, pilgrim centers, places of interest, or in any part of India or abroad, galleries of art, science, social sciences, literature, religion, philosophy, languages or other branches of knowledge for the exhibition, storage, sale or distribution, of paintings, books, photographs, plates, engravings, sculptures, curios, medals, coins, stamps, papers, extracts, excerpts, or other works of art, science, social science, literature, religion, philosophy, languages or other branches of knowledge; to organize, arrange, maintain, run, perform, stage, dramatic, musical, theatrical, cinematographic, poetical symposiums, sessions on all and any branches and discipline of knowledge; to educate, train, equip, experiment, explore and otherwise advance, art, scientific knowledge, social and cultural knowledge and knowledge of art, treasure, collections, and things of allied nature; to establish, run and manage, schools, colleges and classes for the aforesaid purposes; to buy, sell, deal in works of art, science of all kinds and to provide expert advise of all kind to any one or more persons; to preserve, protect, assemble and treat in any manner whatsoever things of art and science and for such purposes to employ agencies and methods appropriate thereto.
To establish, maintain, carry on, run, manage an institution or institutions with or without branches, to give instructions viva voce, or by post or by lantern lectures, or through cinematograph films, video cassettes, other audio-visual aids, by modern computers, or other such electronic gadgets or otherwise to both sexes, for the purpose of teaching in the arts, sciences, social sciences, commerce, management, technology or other branches of knowledge or studies relating to economics, politics, accounting, book-keeping, stenography, telegraphy, astronomy, typewriting, photocopying, computer technology, commercial and company law, engineering, medicine, radio engineering and all forms of engineering, electronics, technical, vocational, commercial, business, political or human education; to organise debates, lectures, exhibitions, expeditions, research work, dances, operas, theatres, outdoor amusement, enterprises, public meetings, political or otherwise and classes and conferences calculated directly or indirectly to advance the cause of education whether general, professional, social, scientific, technical or other.
To receive and collect any gifts, subscriptions, donations, fees, grants, purse, funds, 'guptadana', charity, either in cash, kind,. hundis, assurances, promissory notes, guarantees, or other such negotiable instruments, or acquire by any other lawful ways and means, from individuals, groups, societies, authorities, corporations, companies or other corporate persons, government, local self governments, local authorities, anonymous donors, from India or foreign countries, and spend, invest, dispose, lend, loan, lease, donate subscribe, grant, gift or otherwise in any form disburse to individuals, groups, societies, authorities, corporations, companies, or other corporate persons, government, local self governments, local authorities, in India or foreign countries in fulfillment of all or any of the aims and objects of the Foundation or the purposes mentioned earlier herebefore in order to achieve the aims and objects of the Foundation. The income and properties of the Foundation shall be applied solely for the promotion and the fulfillment of the aims and objects of the society, provided any such aforementioned subscriber, donor etc. intends that his contributions, donations, subscriptions etc. shall be applied for the attainment of any particular object of the Foundation, such contribution, donation, subscription etc. shall be spent towards the promotion of that particular object or objects only.
To subsidise, support, aid, grant, pay for, sponsor, all or any of the trips, travels, voyages, journeys, missions, excursions, tours, delegations, deputations, visits, exchanges, by rail, road, air, ship, cars, automobiles, to any and every part of India and foreign countries or territories, individually or in groups, of the members, office-bearers, directors, promoters, governors, advisors, employees, associates, visitors of the Foundation or any other person not connected with the Foundation, for the purpose of studies, investigations, participations in Conferences, Seminars, meetings, delegations, missions, discussions, work-shops, paper readings, lecturing, discoursing, attending for any purpose mentioned in paragraphs herebefore; and subsidise, support, aid, grant, pay for, sponsor, or otherwise arrange for the visits, trips, travels, voyages, journeys, missions, excursions, tours, delegations, deputations, visits, exchanges, to India y persons from abroad, by means of any form of transport, for the purpose of studies, investigations, participations, in conferences, seminars, meetings, delegations, missions, discussions, work-shops, paper-reading, lecturing, discoursing, or for attending for any purpose mentioned in paragraphs herebefore.
To undertake, carry out, promote and sponsor or assist any activity for the promotion and growth of national economy and for discharging what the Board of Directors may consider to be social and moral responsibilities of the Foundation to the public or any section of the public as also any activity which the Board of Directors consider likely to promote national welfare or social, economic or moral uplift of the public or any section of the public and in such manner and by such means as the Board of Directors may think fit, and the Board of Directors may without prejudice to the generality of the foregoing, undertake, carry out, promote and sponsor any activity for giving merit awards, for giving scholarships, instituting medals, prizes, trophies, giving loans or any other assistance to deserving students or other scholars, or persons to enable them to prosecute their studies or academic pursuits or research and for establishing, conducting or assisting any institution, fund, trust, etc. having any of the aforesaid objects as one of its objects, by giving donations or otherwise in any other manner, and the President may at his discretion, in order to implement any of the abovementioned objects or purposes, transfer without consideration or at such fair or concessional value as the President may think fit and divest the ownership of any property of the Foundation to or in favour of any person, public or local Body or Authority or Central or State Government or any Public Institutions or Trusts, or Funds as the Board of Directors may approve.
To undertake, carry out, promote and sponsor rural development including any programme for promoting the social and economic welfare of, or the uplift of the public in any rural area and to incur any expenditure on any programme of rural development and to assist execution and promotion thereof either directly or through an independent agency or in any other manner.
To own, buy, sell, run, maintain, hire, operate vehicles of all kinds and description, cars, Jeeps, wagons, vans, caravans etc. or any other mode of transport by road, rail and air, aeroplanes, helicopters and put them to use for any and all of the aforementioned objects, and to provide these for use, either free of cost or otherwise, to the members, Board of Directors, office bearers, or any other persons in order that they be used for the promotion of the objects of the society, or for the purpose of effectively carrying out the activities, of the society or Foundation.
To make, build, construct, maintain, erect, mould, shape, fabricate, stuff, or otherwise assemble one or more memorials, mausoleum, tomb, statue, bust, image, brass, tablet, slab, inscription, column, arch, obelisk, cromlech, dolmen, cairn, menhir, megalith, barrow, tell, testimonial, trophy or any other monument of eminent national, international, of foreign personalities, members, office bearers, Board of Directors, promoters, associates of the Foundation or any other person and for this purpose to carry on any and all activities which are incidental to the achievement of the above object.
To carry out any other activity which is incidental to and required for carrying out all or any of the abovementioned objects and purposes.

Since its inception, the Central India Foundation has been carrying out various of these activities with remarkable results. These include creation of public awareness through guidance programmes on critical subjects such as HIV-AIDS, guiding youth regarding career, organising mass marriage functions, educating people through lecture series on various issues and topics, lectures on annual budget (analysis by prominent personalities), lectures on health, work for tribal, malnourished children, organising health and blood donation camps and many other activities.
