The Meeting of
the World Religious Leaders begain at 4.30 PM(Spanish
Time) at the beautiful city os Seville in Sapin
on the 14th of December. Organised under the auspices
of the UNESCO by the Elijah Interfaith Academy
(Isreal), the Foundations for the Three Cultures
of the Mediterannian, and McGill University the
theme of this first meeting is " Religion,
Democratic Society and teh Other - Hostility,
Hospitality and teh Hope of Human Flourishing".
The Board of World Religious Leaders was constituted
and announced right in the begining before the
starting of the first inaugural session. The Board
consists of the following:

got the honour of Chairing the inaugural session.
Sri Sri Ravishankar gave the first inaugural speech.
He said that there is need to change the threee
T´s from tiem to time Trade, Technology,
Thinking and Tradidion. . Dr Shrikant Jichkar
in his sppch summerizing and concluding speech
said that the the Indian tradition is an all encompassing
, tolerant and accommodating tradition. He spoke
about the inmmanant conept of divinity of the
Indian tradition which accommodated everyone.
Tehre was no conqust, nor conversion from the
Indian tradition but there was coexistence by
assimilation. |
