Well, I've finally done it! Decided to join the 21st century and have a website. Those of you who know me know that it becomes very difficult to talk about oneself in public arena. During my vast travels inside and outside India I realized that lots young people come and ask me about what I do, how I do, how many educational degrees I have, how I do so many things at so many different levels - right from technology to culture and education and political life, etc., etc. I owe to my young friends to let them know what all I have done, what I do now, what plans I have and where I need their help to bring around changes in our day today social life.

I meet various people in all the age groups. They want to do something for the betterment of the society. They have money, time and resources too. On the other hand, there are many who don't have jobs in spite of having good educational degrees. Many rural areas lack basic facilities of roads, education, health, drinking water, etc. The real challenge is to bring these two groups - the resource groups and the non-resource groups - together.

I see youths in cities and rural areas have a tremendous energy, which without proper channelization goes waste. Government can't do much as it has no money. Proper channelization and constructive use of such energy is our real world challenge. Many youth and/or their parents don't know what exactly to be done, where to start and what way they can contribute. Every body thinks that someone else will do it. I don't have to do it. I don't claim I have the ready answers for many such socio-economic problems. But, I am fortunate enough to gather groups of enthusiastic and professional people who either have answers or are ready to suggest real life solutions/alternatives to many of such issues facing day today lives of so many youngsters & other people.

When all such people from both the sides come to me, I couldn't say no. So here I am slightly overwhelmed what I am going to do, but, overall, have a good feeling about the whole thing. I hope this web site run and administered by my good friends will inspire and guide a few while serving a focal point for lot others. I want this web site to be forum, a catalyst, and a bridge to bring around socio-economic changes in our society.

Let's brainstorm different ideas, problems & their solutions. Please join me whatever way you can, from wherever you are to get this "Jagannath Rath of Social Service" going. You have no idea what kind of potential and energy you have. Please don't consider yourself either too small or weak to make any changes in the society. Yes, you can, you can contribute lot to our society and help others who are less fortunate than you. No idea is a foolish idea; no thought is a foolish thought. Call us, send us an email, subscribe to our monthly newsletter, and contribute to the newsletter. Let's interact.

I will personally await your constructive feedback to make this web site more meaningful and useful especially to our youths and to people from all walks of people.

All the best! Jai Hind!

Yours,

Shrikant Jichkar
